Irani, Balwant Singh Rajput (Congress) and Sonia Gandhi’s political secretary Ahmed Patel are contesting as candidates for BJP in this election. There is a need for 47 MLAs to win a candidate.
In Gujarat assembly, ruling BJP has 116 members and Congress has 57 MLAs. Accordingly, 2 BJP members and one Congressman can win. But BJP has fielded the 3rd candidate. In this situation, 6 MLAs from Congress walked to BJP. The Congress, which has been shocked by the Congress, has mobilized 44 MLAs and sent them to Bangalore on the 28th of July.
The MLAs stayed in the private luxury hotel ‘Eagleton’ in the outskirts of Bengaluru. The responsibility for protecting them was given to Karnataka Electricity Minister DK Sivakumar. He then stayed in the luxury hotel with MLAs. They came to Bangalore for 10 days. Meanwhile, the income tax case in Bangalore has caused fear among the Gujarat MLAs.
According to Congress sources, 44 of Congress MLAs who stayed in the luxury accommodation are returning to their home town of Gujarat today (Monday) after 10 days. Accordingly, Congress MLAs were taken to Gujarat this morning. They are then taken to another luxury hotel in Anand district. Ahmed Patel said, “We are confident that we will win, all MLAs are with us.”
Earlier, all the MLAs were reportedly going to Delhi. But Congress leader Gokhale refused.
The Congress MLAs resigned from the BJP after the Rajya Sabha elections began in Gujarat. With this, Bangalore brought MLAs out of the rest of the Congress.
