Following a formal call from the West Bengal government, the party has announced that it will join the talks.
Amar Singh Rai, senior party leader and lawmaker, said this information.
It is considered as the main event of the indefinite strike that has taken place for the last 73 days.
Other major parties such as JAP, GNLF and ABG are also participating in the talks. Earlier, the GNSF movement requested the government to call for a formal dialogue.
The letter, written by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, is the key leader of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, except for setting up a separate state of Gorkhaland. Prior to Tamang’s letter, party leader Bimal Gurung had demanded a “political dialogue” to form a separate state.
